This is a beautiful, early Staffordhire White Ironstone Large Tureen in the very desireable Fluted Pearl shape. It is that lovely blue-white of good, early ironstone. It measures 13 inches long, 9 and 1/2 inches wide and 8 and 1/2 inches tall. It is in very good condition. It does have a chip on one of the edges of the cover, which can be seen in the first picture, but because the lid sits down inside the tureen, it is not very noticeable. The inside bottom has one pit mark. T are also a couple of in-the-making grains of kiln debris that are in the glaze and mentioned for accuracy, and do not devalue the piece. T is a tiny bit of wear on the beautiful coral finial, but the finial and pierced handles have no chips or cracks. The glaze is beautiful and free of crazing. Offered with no reserve, this is a rare, early and lovely piece of white ironstone.
