In the next few months I shall be Listing a large collection of Beautiful Lace from a Convent in the North East of England in Co.Durham.It was a closed order and the last 8 Nuns have moved to another Convent.The Nuns had been in the same building for 150 years and the Lace was either given to them,pre-used or new,or was made by the Nuns themselves,to work into Items for the Priests or for the Catholic Churches in the area.I'm not an expert on Lace so tfore I shall do my best to describe the pieces as best I can and include several photo's for you to make up your own mind .Any Questions Please do Ask . Description : This is a Beautiful Piece of Wide Long Hand Worked Antique Irish Crochet Lace.It has a Gorgeous pattern with lovely raised work to the Lace and is a Clotted Cream colour although it might wash up Whiter .This really is one of the nicest pieces I have ever seen . I'm not sure if it has been used or not but I can't see any obvious signs . I would imagine it was for the edge of an Altar cloth or something similar . If you have any Questions please ask and I'll do my very best to answer. Condition : The Condition is Really Very Good for its age. I can't see any really noticeable damage,a damaged bride perhapes which I've not noticed or any marks or stains . I have not Laundered this item. SIZE : 90ins by 9ins deep (approx ) Postage : The postage by Airmail to the USA is $8.80 .
