Beautiful, working, 1940's Philco bakelite radio. This is the last of my four of these sets that I have offered in the last 6 weeks. This cabinet type is available in a Crosley brand plastic reproduction with AM/FM- and I think a DVD player- but really why would you want a repro when you can have the real thing. Excellent luster, a dark chocholate in color with the quite rare tiger striped mottling, a very active swirling of lighter and darker shades. No cracks or chips in cabinet, photo shows reflections of the backdrop blanket (in addition to the vertical faces and the dial scale), t is no marring. Great deco styling- having the lighted curved moondial over the zephyr inspired louvered grille, it is one of my favorite post war designs. Impeccibly clean, inside and out, it will pass the white glove test. Unit has original knobs, dial lens, cardboard back, and a crisp Philco decal, lower front-center. The set plays loudly, clearly with good tone, no hum. Has good, safe, power cord and working dial light. It measures 11 1/2 inches long, 7 high, 7 deep. As with all my radios, the luster and sheen on the bakelite is natural, exhibiting the original characteristics of the bakelite when newly made....no coatings (permanent or temporary), sprays, or oils are used to glam it up. All radios sold have had preventative electrical maintainence, so that they perform as well in the foreseeable future...as they do when you first get them. I stand behind the components I've repaired, parts and labor- for 90 days. After that- free labor for 6 months. Why would you bother with someone who says they've "restored" the radio and then tell you you are buying "as is"? The insides of my radios are given the same attention as the outsides. Selling beautiful, working radios on ebay continuously, since 1998. Buyer pays shipping, $20 insured ground in US, more elsew is accepted, please see other radios for sale- in my no reserve auctions, and other bakelite and wood sets in my new fixed price, buy it now, ebay store.
