Beautiful, working, prewar Zenith wood table radio. This set dates to 1941. Very nice, original finish- it is for the discriminating person who values originality in their collectibles/antiques. This unit stands in direct contrast to some of those refinished sets you see on ebay that say "professionally refinished with grain fillers, toners and lacquers", only to look like a craft fair/high school student job or cartoon of a radio that you could scratch your fingernail in the exposed wood grain and have the wrong amount of luster in the refinish- and many times looking bleached in tone and flat/lifeless with no reflectivity. Great period styling, the entire surround of the cabinet is constructed of solid wood, including the grille- the cabinet is of a high quality construction. The dial scale is the signature black dial Zenith. The cabinet is attributed to the Ingraham clock company of Connecticut in the Mark Stein series of Radiomania books. Original ivory knobs, dial pointer, dial lens, cardboard back, and grille cloth (behind the wood louvers). The set plays loudly, clearly with good tone, no hum. Has good, safe, power cord, and working dial light. The radio is 12 inches wide, 7 deep and 7 1/2 high inches high. All radios sold have had preventative electrical maintainence, so that they perform as well in the foreseeable future...as they do when you first get them. I stand behind the components I've repaired, parts and labor- for 90 days. After that- free labor for 6 months. Why would you bother with someone who says they've "restored" the radio and then tell you you are buying "as is"? The insides of my radios are given the same attention as the outsides. Celebrating ten years on ebay- selling beautiful, working radios on ebay continuously, since 1998. Each radio is packed in a way to guarantee that you won't be filing an insurance claim. Buyer pays shipping, $28 insured ground in US, more elsew is accepted, please see other radios for sale- in my no reserve auctions- and also other bakelite, catalin, and wood sets in my new fixed price, buy it now, ebay store.
