Beautifuly figured walnut Grandmother clock

Finely crafted replica miniature longcase clock in the 17th century style. The walnut veneered case has satinwood and ebony inlay to the front. The opening trunk door with geometric inlay and star parquetry, having ebonised mouldings to the edge. Satinwood and star parquetry decorate the base which stands on a walnut and ebonised plinth. The hood has barley twist pillars to the front and quarters to the back. A pierced fret is below the cushion top pediment which is surmounted by two gilt finials. The seven inch square brass dial having a silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals. The centre is matted and the winding holes are ringed. Cast cherub spandrels decorate the corners and the hands are finely cut blued steel. The eight day anchor escapement movement strikes the hours on a bell, controlled by a rack.
