A wonderful Wedgwood plate made for the Centennial of Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania. 1853-1953. Beaver College changed its name in 2001 and became Arcadia University, so this is a true collector's plate that is well over 50 years old! The plate measures approximately 10 3/8" in diameter. The front has the Porte Coc- Grey Towers done in a red/maroon color on a creamy white background. T are no chips or cracks and only a slight amount of crazing on the back side. The back carries the Wedgwood & Barleston of Etruria, made in England mark, the Beaver College Centennial marks, an Engraved by the Wedgwood Studios mark and the message that the front picture was drawn by Benton Spruance, Member of the Faculty of the Fine Arts Department of Beaver College. T is also the embedded Wedgwood mark and the numbers 4X 53. A real piece of history from Beaver College!
