The unusual feature about this little cast iron fireplace is the cast iron surround with it! I have been dealing in fireplaces for 30 years and have seen very few in that time. This one is a little beauty! The surround and fireplace have superficial rust on them but I would caution against sand or shot blasting - it is a ghastly, vicious, industrial process and would ruin the fireplace in my opinion! A gentle rub down with wire wool and then polishing with a little fire-grate polish - the modern equivalent of black lead which sadly you cannot get any more - will return it to its original and elegant splendour! The fireplace measures 27 1/2"/700 mm wide by 39"/990 mm high
