3 1/2" MUSK OX TINE SKINNER WITH MOSHER LEATHER SHEATH James Behring Jr. was born in Detroit, Michigan but grew up in rural Ray Township,Michigan playing in the woods bow hunting, fishing, and skeet shooting. As aboy he was taught by his father to hunt and fish on the lakes and forests of Northern Michigan and later the Upper Peninsula. The Behring Family had a hunting camp in the U.P., where James would spend much of his fall months. Also an avid fisherman, he discovered early in life the serenity to be found while alone in the forest or on a lake, or in a stream. After years of learning knife making from his dad, James moved to Missoula Montana and opened up his own knife shop. The old saying that the apple does not fall far from the tree(man) is still very true. James Jr. is making some of the best hunting knives on the market today. THIS 3 1/2" SKINNING BLADE IS ACTUALLY FROM A MID 1940'S STUDEBAKER SPRING . THE BLADE IS 3/16" THICK AND 1 1/2" AT IT'S WIDEST POINT. BLADE STAMPS ON THE LEFT SIDE READ J. BEHRING JR. MONTANA AND THE RIGHT SIDE HAS THE BEHRING MADE HAMMER AND KNIFE WITH A B IN THE CENTER STAMP. THIS ONE ALSO COMES WITH THE STUDEBAKER STAMP. THE HAMMER MARK BLADE IS HOLLOW
