Most already know about these units from my previous auctions but for the rest, is the scoop: The government entities has, for the most part, gone digital. As a result, these barographs were decommissioned and tagged as "Excess Stock". These units sold for over $4,000 new! They are no longer in production.I checked this instrument against a calibrated Fortin barometer along with another calibrated Belfort throughout the range and found the barograph pressure readings to be accurate as well as the time-keeping. As before, I will guarantee the clock mechanism for 45 days after the lucky winner receives the barograph. If the clock fails in that time period, I will replace the clock for free! Unlike standard barographs, microbarographs will detect minute pressure changes. This instrument has a 2.5 to 1 magnified scale, spring driven chart drive, and vibration shock and tip proof damping system which prevents shock and air blasts from causing a corresponding wavy trace on the chart. This particular instrument is set up for a 108 hour rotation and I will include a few charts for this speed. The unit may also be set up for other speeds such as 195 hour. Gear sets for this speed are available but they are quite expensive. This was probably the best mechanical microbarograph ever marketed as it employs a dual cascaded opposing bellow system
