Goodlin has signed this nice 8x10 black and white photo of him exiting the X-1 after a flight. Wearing his “reconstituted” football helmet, he was the 2nd pilot to fly the X-1, but the first to fly it in powered flight. Was he the first to fly mach 1? He was certainly most likely to have before Yeager, since now we know there is no barrier per se, but he never claimed it and there is no proof. We lost this aerospace giant some years ago, and this photo was from his personal collection, as evidenced by the stamp on the versa. If bidding on other items please wait for an invoice as I can combine shipping. The USPS has raised it's rates, and mine only reflect the cost of shipping and possibly for the packaging.Canadian bidders please wait for an invoice as I can usually work with the shipping a little.
