Since its introduction in 1857, Belleek Pottery has been cherished internationally for its delicate eggshell quality and the almost translucent ivory of the parian china from which it's crafted. Made in Ireland in the Fermanagh Lakelands, the instantly recognizable luster and design subtleties are the result of skilled craftsmen applying brushstroke, transfer and finely wrought detail by hand. · From the Christmas in Ireland series, "Ringing in the Holiday " · The plate is detailed on its rim with a double basket weave pattern in ivory on which raised red holly berries and raised holly leaves in a delicate shade of green are painted · The center is a transfer depicting a church entrance framed by two urchins ringing four church bells hung in holly branches; the overall scene is warmed by touches of candlelight, the colors of the children's winter woolens and the gold tone of the bells · Approximate diameter of the plate is 8.25" · Underside markings are the gold Belleek logo of the harp, turret and dog with the words "Belleek" and "Ireland" in two banners at the base and the words "Ringing in the Holiday" 'Second plate in the Belleek Christmas in Ireland series Edition limited to 15,000' · From a private collection, the plate is in excellent pre-owned but unused condition with no cracks, chips or crazing · Made in Ireland of read more
