Belleek Symbols of the Four Evangelists Gospel Plate Collection Description 8 3/4" Diameter The entire four plates are from the Belleek Gospel Plate Collection. This is a Belleek Collectors' Society issue. It contains the First, second, third and fourth Edition from the Book of Kells "Symbols of the Four Evangelists". including the book of Kells. The St. Matthew (1979), St. Mark (1981), St. Luke (1982) and the St. John (1983) Plates are a collection stored from their purchase until now and are in "mint" condition. They have never been handled, displayed or sold, they are one owner plates. Each plate comes complete with their velvet lined boxes which are in great condition having been kept undisturbed during their shelf life. Each plate has its original luster, no scuffs, scratches or ware what so ever. I have periodically searched the web to find a complete collection of this set, I have never found one. While you may find one or two of the singles the more difficult plates will most likely not be found, certainly not with out some ware or damage. This set is indeed rare and worth the consideration of a true collector . This item is NEW and has never been used or displayed. Buyer to pay shipping charge.
