This very delicate Irish china was was donated to our organization in excellent condition. The demitasse cup and saucer were both manufactured by Beleek in Ireland, although have different date marks on the bottom. The little saucer plate carries the "third black mark" indicating it was made between 1926-1946. It has a stamp with the words "deanta in eirinn" (made in Ireland) and the registered trademark number 0857 added below the banner. The cup has the "second green" or "fifth mark" indicating it was made between 1955-1965. This marking has the added letter "r" within a circle above the banner to identify that the Belleek mark was registered in the United States. T are 2 or 3 very slight, very small surface scratches that were detected when the light hit the saucer just right. This could be due to placement of the cup. The bottoms of the cup has a bit of roughness (not chips, just roughness) around the base edging. Excellent condition considering the age of the dinnerware. Please see our other auctions for another Belleek Tridacna-yellow teacup and saucer set. A very delicate set to enhance an elegant tea setting or compliment a more shabby chic display!
