Staffordshire dark blue historical transfer 9 7/8" shallow rim soup by Ralph Stevenson, 1810-35, entitled "Belvoir Castle" This view is part of Stevenson's "Acorn and Oakleaf Border Series". The central scene shows a large and imposing castle. A cluster of sheep rest on the lawn and a man, woman and child stand nearby. A handsome bowl. Excellent condition, no chips, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Some minor crazing, very minimal surface wear. Bluish glaze.
