You are bidding on a two volume hardcover set of books: Biographical Sketches of the Bench and Bar of South Carolina, by John Belton O'Neall, to which is added the original fee bill of 1791, with the signatures in fac-simile. The rolls of attorneys admitted to practice, from the records at Charleston and Columbia, Etc. Published by S.G. Courtenay & Co., Charleston, S.C., 1859.
vol. 1: xxxii + 431 pp vol. 2: 614 pp These books also contain the owner's signatures, Samuel Atkinson 1860, B.F. Taylor 1910, B.F. Arthur (no date). These books are in fair condition, vol. 1 cover has come loose, t is also some dampstaining to the pages near the front of the book, dampstaining to the signature facsimile pages. AS NEW: Without faults or defects, unread, new bookstore condition. VERY GOOD: A used book showing some small signs of wear on either binding or dustjacket. GOOD: The average used and worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Any defects must be noted. FAIR: A worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title page, etc. (which must be noted). Binding, dustjacket, etc. may also be worn. All defects/faults must be noted. POOR: A book that is sufficiently worn that its only merit is the complete text, which must be legible.
