This week I have several folding knives, mostly "tactical" folders, but also a couple of vintage ones thrown in for good measure. This is a strong little knife that is equally at home in the workplace or more challenging environments. The molded fiberglass reinforced handle has checkering to provide a secure grip The pocket clip is reversible for right- or left-handed pocket carry, while the Axis-lock is extremely secure and truly ambidextrous. T is no blade play. I believe Benchmade called the blade shape a modified sheepfoot, although it is somewhat of a reverse, upswept tanto style. This knife has a partially serrated blade to handle tough cutting chores like rope or nylon webbing, such as seatbelts. The straight portion works very well on fine cutting tasks - including such tactical chores as opening envelopes. The thumb hole makes for easy one-hand opening with either hand. This Mel Pardue-designed knife is simply an excellent all around tool. Benchmade's Web site lists the specifications for the newer 556-series of knives, but most information remains the same for this slightly older model: overall length, 6.78", closed length, 3.87"; blade length, 2.91"; thickness, 0.100"; steel, 154 CM; hardness, 58-60 HRc; weight, 2.56 ounces. This knife has been carried and lightly used: you can see some slight wear on the edges of the pocket clip. It has the original factory edge. It comes with the box, plastic bag and nylon Benchmade pouch as well as the original paperwork. Great knife to carry and use! Please contact me if you have any additional questions. Shipping and other information I ship by USPS, usually Priority Mail, occasionally by First Class. If an item is heavy, or t are several items, I will put them into a Priority Mail Flat Rate box to save postage as long as they will fit. All items shipped in the U.S. will include Delivery Confirmation, and I will let you know that number when your purchase is shipped. I do ship internationally. I list actual contents and cost on the Customs form. I usually use International Priority Mail, but may use another method if you desire.
