Up for auction is one of the true "holy grail" Benchmads--the 780 linerless Axis lock. To make a long story short, Benchmade had major production problems with this knife and most of the first several hundred knives made did not meet Benchmade's standards. As a result, production was stopped and the few good ones were sent out to retailers to be sold. Nobody seems to know for sure, but it seems that between 150 and 200 prototypes and first productions made it out of the factory. This is one of those knives--numbered 0167 of 1000 (although again, t were really far less than 1000 released). Not only is this a really rare knife...it is also one of the nicest knives BM ever made in my opinion. It has stainless handles and a very ergonomic design with great balance and looks--I wish I had the guts to carry this knife--it would make a GREAT user. Anyway, needless to say, the 780 is a SUPER hard one to get a hold of--don't miss out on this rare opportunity. It is in brand new perfect unused condition with its original box and paperwork. I'm listing the knife with no reserve--so the highest bidder gets it.
