For sale is a super tough and super rare Benchmade RKS Mod 552-400 Limited Edition Griptilian that was designed by survival expert Doug Ritter. In his words: "All you need and nothing you don't" This one is number 094 of 100 made in the First Production Run (FPR) Doug Ritter is the survival expert for Equiped to Survive. He works with Aeromedix, a company that specializes in survival and first aid for pilots and special ops people. Doug went to one of the premier knife makers with his idea of what he needed in a knife for survival and still be affordable for working folks. Handle: Benchmade's tried and true textured Noryl GTX Handle. This is a modern, engineered material with minimal flex, extremely strong and molded so as to take and keep a great gripping surface, whether your hands are wet, cold or gloved. Thong-lanyard hole and reversable pocket clip makes this a true ambidextrious knife. The proven and patented AXIS Lock will hold even to handle or blade failure! It also makes opening and closing the knife fast and safe. Open length is about 8 inches and is about 4.62 inches closed. Blade: Doug insisted on the best steel for the knife - CPM S30V, which is THE steel of choice for custom makers. It is very stain-resistant while holding an edge far longer than most. The blade is about 3.4 inches long and 0.114 inches thick in a Modified Drop Point. Doug had a lot of input to the blade design, so it will do all that is necessary when the chips are down! This is a Must Have for the adventurer or true collector. Please check out the Benchmade site and the Aeromedix site - this knife is still available, but not in a FPR. This First Production Run knife was sold in Benchmade's 'Black' class, which includes knifes for Military, Police, Special Ops. The production model is sold in the Blue class.
