Two Small Vintage Bentleys Cat Gallery TinsHere are two charming little tins from Bentley’s of London. These tins apparently are from a series of tins from Bentley’s that were recreations of famous paintings, with cats substituted for the people. Both tins were made in England. The tins have some vintage wear and patina. There are some small areas of wear, some scratches, handling marks, light soiling, several minor dents/dings , etc. Both have a few small worn areas or small scratches on base where silver shows through . Metal rims starting to darken, possibly some early rust starting here or at inside crevices . Insides and bottoms scuffed up a bit, sticker residue on rectangular tin. The oval tin is a lighter brown color than the rectangular tin. Oval Tin This is “The Laughing Cavalier” by Frans Hals. Dated 1990 on the bottom, it once contained Fruit Bonbons. Rectangular Tin This tin is entitled “The Night Watch” after Rembrandt’s work. The date is covered by a sticker on the bottom, I assume it also dates to the 1990s. The sticker is not in English, looks German or Dutch perhaps. Again, condition issues of note: · Possibly some small specks of rust starting on metal rims or at inside crevices. · Several minor dents or dings on both. · Some small worn areas or scratches where silver shows through on bases. Approximate size of larger tin is about 5 1/8” by 4.25” by about 1.25” tall. So, in eBay’s eyes, a 4 means your buying experience was not good enough. So if you are happy, please be generous with the 5s! Thanks… · I wait for feedback from buyers before leaving feedback for them. That way I know the transaction is complete and any issues have been resolved.
