Franz Bergman (1861 – 1936) erotic figurine. " Sheik" mechanical figure appears to be a sheik standing on a carpet holding acat, but the sheik’s coat opens to reveal a nude girl clinging to him. Mechanical cape is attached to the back of the sheik figure using a screw, and sheik is attached to the carpet using a screw also. Back of the sheik’s coat includes an engraving of an urn/vase with the name “Nam-Greb” underneath it in print. Later Bergmans have a more decorative urn/vase and the Nam-Greb name is in decorative script. This one is in fair condition- some patina left, and if it was ever painted (as many Bergmans are) the paint is long gone. Dimensions- height is 4 3/4", width is 2", and the carpet on which he stands is 2 1/4" x 3 7/8". A small engraving on the bottom of the carpet says "tiffany studios" and "new york" in all caps on two separate lines.
