This is a late 1960s unusual underground newspaper, "Barb On Strike," a special issue distributed during a labor dispute at the "Berkeley Barb" between Max Scherr and the Red Mountain Tribe, Vol. 1 No. 1, issue date July 11 - 17, 1969, 12 pages, and is complete. The front page features a photo of Scherr. The paper also includes the following: Barb On Strike; Dia-Tribe; Bastille Day; Hard Times in the Haight; 'Freedom' at Fort Dix; Blue Winter (regarding Johnny Winter, includes a photo of him playing his guitar); Amerikan Justice - The Trials of Wayne Green; and more. Note regarding scans: Due to the large size of the paper, the top & bottom sections of the front cover are shown separately. Condition: The paper overall is clean; there is a 1/2" vertical tear on the top edge of the front page; light handling and foxing (brown spotting) on the top & bottom edges.
