4 1/4 X 6 1/2 inch mount size photo of carrie F. Young and signed same at back by Carrie dated March 1879. (light small spot stains right of image) 1900 Dated Diary Red color cover print dated 1899 measures 4 1/4 X 5 3/4 inchs. Inside cover tag Book belongs to Dr. C.F. Young Berkeley Calif. 95%++ of pages from Jan1 to dec 31 1900 have entry's from Carrie of happens of the day most days also have the weather included. Many names are mentioned threw out book includes WCTU meets , Lectures , letters rec'd and sent to whom.. Health , Electrical treatments, baths , Trolly rides and locations , mining claims , tax's paid. Example Nov. 23 1900 - 1pm to golden gate WCTU at 4:10oc made my little speech & came home - No Acquantance with anyone. Mrs. H. went with me & i owe her 15 cts. Misc. items and notes attached to some pages.--------------------------------------------- History info of Carrie----------- Carrie D. Filkins was born in Scattlcoke New York March 10, 1828. She was the eldest child of George Filkins and Salome (Gardner) Filkins whom are descendants of Henry Filkins, the Founder of the American Filkins family who in the latter part of the 1600s came from Holland to Dutchers county New York.
