This is a laser cut short kit for the Berkeley's 114" Custom Privateer Flying Boat (McGovern's Monster!). The Custom Privateer was designed By Don McGovern and kitted by Berkeley's in 1955. This is the one everyone wanted back then, but few could afford because it was a $20.00 kit. Original kits in good shape can bring over $1000.00 these days. So this is a chance for everyone to own and build The Monster. We have laser cut all of the original die-cut parts for this beautiful kit and provide them with a set of printed plans to build over. As with most of the pylon equipped sea planes that we make, we have modified the pylon to have a hollow space through it for throttle or motor wires to be contained inside. The original ribs were hard/heavy 1/16" balsa. We used 3/32" good quality balsa for the wing ribs, same strength and lighter!Note: This is a short kit and does not contain stick or sheet balsa or any hardware.
