Marvelous plate from Marion Bermuda Crusing Yacht Race1985. 12 Club burgees surround the rim with two gold bands; one on the inner rim, one on the outer rim. The back is marked with details of the history of the event. Made by Woodmere Studio China of Greenville, PA. The back is marked with details of the history of the event: The first Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race was held in 1977, attracting more than a hundred entries to participate in an offshore race without spinnakers that crusing yachts with cruising crews could complete successfully. The race, sponsored by the Blue Water Sailing Club, the Beverly Yacht club, and the Royal Hamilton Amateur Dinghy Club, departs from Marion, Massachusetts and most often starts with a beat down Buzzards Bay past the Elizabeth Islands to a rhumb line course for the Gulf Stream and Bermuda, some 645 nautical miles from the start. A limited edition produced by the Marion Bermuda Cruising Yacht Race Association. This commemorative plate is in excellent condition with no chips or nicks. No wear. 11" diameter.
