Vintage Bernard No.119-6 / W. Schollhorn Repair Tool for Sewing Machine Belts Patented Unused XLNT Insured for loss, shipping to the USA is $8.00 USD. This auction presents a vintage patented dual-purpose parallel pliers tool for repairing belts, such as used on treadle type sewing and similar machines. This tool is in unused, perfect working and near 100% plating condition for either use or display. To repair the belt, it is placed under and cropped to length by the half-round cutter blade. Subsequently, the belt is inserted into the cylindrical hole under the round punch and pierced through by it. Having both ends of the belt prepared identically, they are joined by a staple. The special linkage construction permits the jaws of the tool to remain parallel as the tool is opened and closed. It appears that the front part of the tool is designed to form the staples. The tool is stamped thus Bernard (the inventor's name) and No. 119-6. It is also stamped Patent 1,804,149, W. Schollhorn Co. (the manufacturer). New Haven Conn. Made in USA. Overall length is about 6-1/2" IMPORTANT NOTE! PLEASE READ! Currently I ship to the USA and to Canada. Interested members from abroad please e-mail me before bidding.
