The preternatural linework on this sublime page from "The Pepper Lake Monster" presaged the publication of Bernie Wrightson's masterpiece of pen and ink illustration, Frankenstein, by two years. Wrightson fans, please note that as an "art bonus," the back of this page features pencilled scenes for a different story. This Bronze Age masterwork has an image area of 12" x 17", and aside from some pasted-on lettering corrections in panels two and three, the art is in Excellent condition.
