For more info call Kenn on 01205359207or email What you are bidding on is a complete package with so much providence it is truly amazingThe Bert Weedon Zero One Electric Archtop Guitar which bear a Beeson import Lable inside so was probably means it was made either by Hofner or FramusThese Guitars were made between 1959 and 1962 and around 1000 were made over that period (of this style with the pickguard)this is quite an early number "217" so was probably from the first batchThese Pickguards, get for a complete one, like this between £300-£400 on their own in original condition This Guitar was restored over 1 year as a labour of loveWhen the Guitar arrived it was in a very sorry state and required full restorationThe top logo was damaged and the first thing I did was to lacquer over it to prevent further lose or damage to the water-slidenext due to the deep scratches and (childs drawing on the guitar) it was rubbed down with steel wool to achieve a flat surface to repaint (whilst attempting to keep the light crazing that age had given to the original paint job) The paint was matched and a light coat of ref was given to the body and Black to the neck (as per original) Then the guitar was Lacquered and rubbed back down 7 times to give a ultra high quality finish (that is probably better than the original) by giving it just the single coat of paint we were able to preserve the light crazing which in good light shows through the lacquer. thus making the guitar look like a 50+ year old guitar that has been looked after.The String guide (nut) was missing when the guitar came in This was replaced The original Machine heads were rusty these were clean with steel wool and are now 100% fine The fretboard and frets were in good condition so were just given a light cleanThe Bridge was Missing so another "Hofner" solid Rosewood bridge was sourced from "New Old Stock"The original String Retainer like the machine heads was corroded this was rubbed back using steel woolThe Original Pickguard containing the two original pickups and all the original controls was lightly cleanedThere is a Tiny crack behind the neck pickup this has been leftThe original Output socket is still present and the electrics have not been molested (obviously I have not been able to test the electrics due to the small output socket which is different from modern guitars but I see no reason why it should not work as everything is in place although the guitar is sold as untested)The guitar has a light and easy playing action and is Buzz free all the way up the fretboard.These are rare Guitars a restoration company sold one like this that had a broken neck Theirs was sold WITHOUT pickguard and the price on theirs was £7501818 Auctioneers sold one like mine in the same condition (restored) for an undisclosed sum (though the reserve was £1200)and remember mine has all the extra Bert Weedon stuffI am going to start the Bidding on this RARE RARE GuitarIf I can find a hard case to fit I will chuck one in for freeI have shipped guitars all over the world with no problemsShipping costs will be £25 for mainland UKHighlands and Islands £28Overseas shipping will vary the The £50 is just a figure I pulled out of the air ASK how much for your country FirstThe Guitar will be well packaged for transitthe strings will be slackened off and the Bridge wrapped separate to prevent damagelow low low stupidly low startI may be able to find a case for transit if I do that will be by arrangement with the winning bidder read more
