So pretty ! This wonderful French stand has the most wonderful rich swags of roses, skillfully made from a combination of carving and barbola gesso work......dating to the early 1900's Edwardian in style with much ornament....... all of the barbola florals and swag work on this piece are original, and have not been added...... Old painted finish is an ivory white, muted from age, and softened by patina....the swargs are delicately detailed in the style of barbola mirror and frame work in soft pastels, as well as some medium tones of sage green and greyish aqua blue...please look closely at the detail and dimension in these roses, and every leaf drapes perfectly around the French column like stand..... the swags alone measure: 23" in sweep around the stand .....they are large and important looking.... HEIGHT overall is 41 1/2" tall, and base diameter is 17".... this is a nice, heavy and beautifully made example of Circa 1900's French decorative arts........please ask all questions before the end of auction, and thank you for considering another one of my sentimental antique treasures...... PS this is a very solid piece that would ship nicely through GPX station to station keeping shipping cost at around 45.00......
