PLEASE CHECK BACK THEN TO SEE NEW TREASURES FROM MY FOUR STATE SHOPPING EXCURSION** One of the prettiest cottage rugs in the best shade of pink. It dates to the 1920's/30's depression era and looks wonderful with painted furniture and vintage rose curtains. This came out of an old bungalow in Dunedin that was owned by a very old couple. Nothing in this house was newer than the 1950's! It is a nice larger size for a throw rug measuring 57" by 32" with an additional 2" fringe and is oval in shape. This looks exactly like the wool Bigelow rugs but the pile feels much softer than my wool rug. I'm not 100% sure of what it is made from...feels more like cotton because of the softness. It may be a wool/cotton blend. Definately NOT synthetic! The background is the prettiest shade of cottage pink and the center floral bouquet is beautiful...cabbage roses, tulips and flowers. Borders have traditional scrolled designs with more flowers. Condition is surprisingly good (it was in a low traffic area). T are no holes or significant areas of wear. I find one small spot as shown in my second to last photo and part of the backing for the fringe is missing along one side of the back. Fringe is read more
