One of the absolute Best Wrought Iron ADJUSTABLE ARM Candleholders with the RARE CANDLE GUIDE. American or English, early 18th century, circa 1700-1760. In a round edged shaped base ending in nice formed original penny feet!!! PERFECT in all aspects. Original shaped and twisted handle. The BEST form. The surface is great, untouched, uncleaned old quality and patina. Great tool marks throughout. These rare candleholders rarely come onto the market. It is unusual to find one with the rare top candle guide. This top guide hole helped keep the old tallow candle straight and upright, they had a tendency to sag and fall over. This candleholder is 18" tall, the base is 6" across. This is one of the BEST Wrought Iron Lights available. The condition is about as PERFECT as you can get, the only damage is a small 1/2" split in the bottom saucer base as shown in the photos. This would "MAKE" a collection of early lighting. This piece of lighting came from the same collection as the great Alpine light I offered last week. This collection is from a Connecticut woman who purchased these items over 10 years ago at major antique shows such as "The Hartford Show", The Folk ART Show in New York and others, from noted dealers and auctions. I was lucky enough to buy "some" great pieces of lighting and iron that I will be offering. Typical wear and imperfections with age as described above. Low starting Price and NO reserve.
