Hi t I write, draw, and publish comic books of my own, but I also collect them. Whenever someone in my area has old comic to sell, they ask me to auction them on eBay for them because I guess I'm the comic book guy in their circle. I sometimes say yes because eBay is still pretty fun when you only do a few items once and a while (I get tired of listing hundreds of items in a week). Once and a while has come again and I have a small collection of vintage Canadian comic books from the Golden Age this time. Very cool. I'd like to keep them all myself, but then I'd have to pay the owner of them and I'd be broke. Anyways. they are, one at a time on eBay for week-long auctions. One dollar opening bid, no reserve. No fuss. This week's batch looks pretty promising. To start off, is my favourite cover of the bunch. A solid Good condition copy of Better Canadian Comics Vol 6 #2 October-November 1945. Maple Leaf Publishing, Vancouver, BC! I very rarely come across these comics from Vancouver. That city has had a great comic book history. I hope Colin Upton is archiving it for future scholars. It's a nice book. White to Off-White pages. 48 pages. Full colour cover with black and white interiors. Please see scan for image of front and back covers. Bright inks. Very well preserved with no noticeable scent. Glossy cover, slight staple rust and loosening of cover from staples at spine. Still very readable. Very minor dings and corner wear, suitable for this grade. Shipping is $6.00 to the USA, $4.00 within Canada ($12.00 overseas I'd image.
