Four original vintage 4x5 photographs by Irving Klaw of Bettie Page. The photos were taped on the back and the front and inscribed by Paula Klaw on one of them "These are originals form Irving Klaw catalog. Paula Klaw." Irving Klaw was persecuted by the US Congress and Estes Keefauver. Depressed and dispirated, Irving Klaw destroyed his photographs and many of the negatives, but his sister Paula secretly saved a small number of originals and many of the negatives. Now Klaw's photos are regarded as classic, highly collectible, Americana and erotica of the 1950's and have been the subject of books, documentaries and even an award winning Hollywood film "The Notorious Bettie Page." These fantastic original vintage photos were given by Paula Klaw to a famous Fetish photographer (detailed provenance available on request) who sold them through a dealer at the 2007 Santa Monica Antiquarian Book Fair. Except for the tape and slight yellowing from age, and a few scratches including a tiny emulsion tear in the upper corner of the top right photo. Otherwise these are in fine condition These photos are guaranteed to be originals and are fully returnable if the purchaser is not satisifed. Postage is $4.80 for Priority Mail for US addresses (insurance is optional at $1.70) and $16.50 for International Fedex (insurance included)
