T were a lot of women from Hollywood's Golden Age who could be called great beauties, great stars, and great actresses; but t were only a few great entertainers who were in the same league with Betty Hutton. Betty was an incredible dynamo on stage and screen; the likes of which are seldom ever seen since. Betty will be remembered for her aggressive vocal stylings and humorous material, but her film roles are perhaps her most enduring legacy. Because of her exuberance and energy she became known as the "Blonde Bombshell." Her reign at the top of the film world was a brief 11 years (1942-1952), during which she made 20 feature films. At her peak she was a national treasure, one of the most beloved stars and biggest box office attractions on the screen. Moviegoers in 1950 named her the year's Best Actress in a Photoplay magazine poll. On the tenth anniversary of her feature film debut, Betty Hutton was hotter than ever. She had been Paramount's top female draw for several years, and now MGM wanted desperately to add her to its star roster. Variety named her 1952's number one female box office attraction, yet one year later her career in film was all but over. Betty gamely continued on in television and in-person appearances, yet her career was never quite the same. Fortunately, her greatest performances are forever captured on film and continue to delight movie buffs throughout the world today. Many loyal Betty Hutton fans have known me several years on E-bay and have also know that my partner Carl Bruno and I had cared for Betty for many years in Palm Springs. Carl knew Betty for 35 years and is also the executor of her will. I have made many fine friends on E-bay due to my connection with Betty. Presently we are attempting to raise approximately $8,000 to install a Star for Betty on the Palm Springs Walk of Fame. Betty does have her Star in Hollywood, but since she lived her at her death we thought it a nice and fitting tribute. Any procedes from this sale will go toward that effort. Mike Up for auction today is this elegant GENUINE Diamond TENNIS BRACELET from the private collection of Miss Betty Hutton. This is a very nice, well made bracelet!! We had it tested to substantiate that it was indeed real diamonds! T is an identifying mark on the clasp that indicates 10k gold. We feel that the true value of this set lies in the fact that is was owned and worn by Miss Hutton. Betty wore this bracelet often along with other tennis bracelets she wore at the same time and on the same arm, her left. The bracelet measures approximately 5 1/2 inches long and 1/8 inches wide. All the diamonds are tightly attached. The clasp is strong and tight and t is a safety clasp as well.. This item is in VERY GOOD condition. All in all, a very nice item from the personal collection of Betty Hutton, Paramount Studio's top grossing film star of the 1940s. Bracelet comes with shown attached card bearing Betty's signature and an additional COA, (certificate of authenticity) stating that this item is indeed from the personal collection of Betty Hutton.
