Nice post WWII BGS Compass. Works well but the glow paint from the needle seems to have come off and is floating randomly around inside. It doesn't impede the needle but it is a flaw. Aside from that is works ok and is in pretty good shape, check the pictures. It includes the leather case. Nice relic of the Cold War era. I really like using Bezard compasses- they appear to be out of production today but they still work very well, it was a great compass system. Bundesgrenzschutz Bezard Compass: " In WestGermany ,the lidbore the wording BUND (Federation) in the BUNDESWEHR (German Federal Republican Army) and BGS in the border surveillance units (BUNDESGRENZSCHUTZ) now renamed theFederal Police (Bundespolizei)." From the compass museum online description.
