For your consideration today is this very large, vintage 1914 Blue Earth County Minnesota plat or plot book made by the Standard Atlas Company that includes so many fine details off all the townships and towns in this county, including the city of Mankato, with many large, highly detailed descriptions, many in color! T are also many pictures of farms, buildings in town, etc, and many pictures of people who lived in the area, plus t are a number of fine ads as well! This is one that you will not want to miss out on if you are a collector from that area of Minnesota, as it contains so many names of the people who owned a plat of land during that time. If you are looking for a certain name or area that might be of high interest to you, and need more details, please feel free to email us, and we will be more than glad to try and help you out!! This is one neat plat book that is absolutely loaded with tons and tons of details about the area and its plots the land owners had, with many, many names of the real estate owners shown in the individual plots. Since the atlas or book is so large, the plots for the townships are very easy to read, as are the names of the owners, and was very nicely done so many years ago. We obviously know that the cover has taken the largest share of use or wear as t are lots of damaged edges so the paper layering is missing or worn off, the corners show some pieces of the cardboard backing chipped off, with the binding cover having a lot of surface damage to the top and bottom. But, the pages remain tight in the binding so that is important, and as for page wear themselves, t is some slight damage to the very inside, bottom corners on the first half of the pages, but honesty does not affect any main material or plot parts at all, as it is very minimal in size. The page edges overall show some light handling wear and age discoloring, the first 6 pages or so show more handling wear at the very front in the middle of the right side of the pages, which includes a few small tears that are not bad at all. The wear also includes some darkening or staining from handling along page edges, t are a few that are marked or have some writing, t are a few minor creases, the first page shows some diagram of a grain elevator in pencil, t are some small and minor dings to the page edges, then more wear signs and stain spotting to the last few pages, with some pages also showing small stain spotting scattered and t But, the majority of this book is really so fine looking material wise, that this wear seems to fit nicely with the appearance!
