BIG AmErICaNa Primitive Santa This big boys stands 38 inches tall and is made of painted, tea stained & distressed canvas. He has pinch quilted features and eyes are of osnaburg fabric painted, hand applied and fringed on the edges to form eyelashes. His beard is of natural sheeps wool sewn in place. Santa's coat is made from an old camp blanket I picked up at a roadside flea market many years ago. A Osnaburg placket runs down the front of the coat with hand applied wool felted stars. Burlap strapping is used for his belt with blue hand applied felted wool stars trimmed with rusty bells. He wears old worn out blue jeans and painted on cowboy boots that have pinch quilting to form the designs on them. His double pointed hat is made of red pique fabric trimmed with osnaburg, a blue wool felted star and rusty bells on the end. Santa is walking his trusty old pal...an origional 1950s souvineer saw dust filled bear from the Great Smoky Mountains. His "God Bless America" denim back pack is trimmed with a piece of an mid-late 1800s quilt. In it he carries an American flag, a brass horn and candy canes made of distressed red mattress ticking. Also attached to the back pack is an old stocking made from an old quilt scrap and two antique tin childrens tea cups tied to a leather strap. Each one of my dolls is cut out by hand without a pattern and is one of a kind. No glue is ever used on any of my dolls. Shipping will be determined at the end of the auction by your zipcode. No additional charge just what the Post Office charges--nothing more or less! :)
