This is a remarkable specimen from
the Genipapo Mine, Itinga,
Minas Gerais, Brazil.
This hefty quartz crystal formation is filled
with dark blue indicolite tourmaline crystals
causing the host crystal
to appear as blue quartz!
This particular specimen is
is a hulking tabular piece quartz.
This crystal is a powerful warrior
with empathy scars and
a self healed back surface.
Of further note is the
self healed portion on the upper right
and the intriguing upper surface
which glitters with tiny tourmalines needles. Notice also the reverse termination
part-way down the left side.
The upper portion may be a viable piece for cutting.
(I have no first hand knowledge of stone cutting
and do not know if this is so or not.)
Indicolite is said to assist one in
relating to others in a loving way.
It is also said to facilitate access
to higher levels of intuition,
acting as a vehicle for
visions and contact with higher realms.
This colossal crystal specimen is 7” tall;
6" across and 1 3/4"-to-2 1/2" thick.
This blue tabby weighs
