Ive recently unearthed some groovyBeatnick / Hippie artefacts andephemera from the estate of recently passed Hepcat and San Francisco native.He was very familiar with the North Beach scene of the late 50s - Kerouac ,Ginsberg , Ferlinghetti, McClure , Brautigan etc. and was on hand for themorphing of that scene with burgeoning Haight scene of the mid 1960s thatwould explode with The Summer of Love in 1967. The really cool thing - hesalted away the paper ephemera that appealed to him- poetry , newspapers ,pamphlets , and posters. is one of the more far-out pieces:: An original First Pressing of the poster advertising the Hell's Angels party at California Hall on February 3, 1967. Big Brother featuring Janis Joplin and Blue Cheer were performing.It was designed by *Gut* who was a notable Hell's Angel and Blue Cheer s manager.This poster was printed before the concert. This original/first print poster was printed prior to the shows on vellum paper stock, and measures approx. 14 x 20. *THE BINDWEED PRESS, SAN FRANCISCO* appears in the middle of the poster, directly under the image. This credit does not appear on the bootleg poster.It is in stunning condition - No Tack holes , No Tape. The paper is brightand the colours vibrant.
