I always have a lot of good silver listed, all at low starting bids and low shipping, so please check out my other auctions! This is a very nice huge antique or vintage solid silver cast serving spoon from Holland. It most likely is 800/1000 silver or a similar grade, less than sterling, which is 925/1000, but a grade commonly used back then. The only hallmark that I could find is a clearly stamped dolphin mark at the edge of the bowl w it meets the handle. This mark was used from 1859 - 1893 for Dutch-made articles of silver below the833/1000 purity standard. The back of the bowl is highly molded and covered in a design that says "Klaas Hof" or Klass House, then below that "x6" (unsure of the first number) and "80", so perhaps this was made for an anniversary, 1880? The top of the handle has a molded couple. It is about 7-1/4" long and heavy for its size. It is in very good condition, with just the roughness associated with this type of manufacture and light scratching in the bowl. No dings, dents, repairs or damage that I could find.
