**French Silk Face Boudoir Doll BIG Rare Original Dress 20s Flapper Vintage Compo** I have several boudoir dolls for sale this week, including this rare, large French flapper: I've named her "Zinnia". Zinnia has a molded silk face and a beautiful head of glossy, wavy orange-blonde hair (could be mohair, but I think it might actually be unspun silk fiber). Her facial features are painted by hand, with cupid's bow red lips and side-glancing eyes. She has graceful elongated composition forearms / hands and lower legs / feet - the feet have gold high heels that are "of a piece" with the molded legs. Zinnia is dressed in her original outfit: a lace-trimmed Southern belle style gown sewn from Valentine candy pink acetate or rayon fabric. She also has a metallic silver flapper headband to accessorize her locks. Zinnia's torso and upper limbs are made of muslin fabric with wood or cork stuffing. This gal is a big, fabulous, uncommon boudoir doll; it's hard to find ones with beautiful composition limbs like this. She will be a fine addition to your collection! MEASUREMENTS This tall dolly measures a whopping 30 inches long/tall. She weighs approximately 510 grams. CONDITION This doll is very lovely, but she does show her age. In addition to the typical fading/darkening, I found the following imperfections: - There is a hole in the upper right leg about 7/8 of an inch in diameter. It is not leaking, but the wood shaving stuffing is exposed. There is a second, smaller hole in the lower torso (also not leaking). I will secure these areas so that they don't leak during shipping. - The neck is floppy, so the doll's head tends to tilt to one side or the other. There's a closeup of the neck stitching in the composite photo above - it looks a little sloppy. - The doll's head is covered with a very delicate, tissue-thin layer of silk on which the facial features are painted. There is some damage to this silk layer. The eyelashes on the right eye are missing, and there is a hole where the eyelashes used to be attached. There are some losses to the eye paint and wear to the silk, including several holes. - The dress is in good overall condition, and I bet it would look great after being gently cleaned and steamed.
