This is a MONSTER. VERY very nice Stone tool. 100% grooved. GREAT patina. Weighs, nearly 4 pounds!! 12" x 13.5" circumferences and about 4 3/4" long.I purchased this from an Estate Auction in South Eastern Nebraska Near the Kansas and Missouri Borders. It is Authentic, but that is about all I know.It does not appear to be sharp like an Axe, but is perhaps a Tomahawk War Club, Skull Cracker, or as a hammer stone of sorts. I really cannot say for sure..One side appears to be rougher than the other, but it also looks purposeful. Very rounded off, yet angular in appearance.Looking at it from the top / bottom, is is triangle shaped. Looking at it from it's side, it is more rounded with 100 % grooving for the Sinew I would suppose. The surface has been worn very smooth pretty much all over. It has seen much use, they way it looks. The notching or grooving just is so purposeful, and exact it seems. It goes all the way around this stone tool.NEW INFORMATION: Thisartifact would be classed as a maul, a tool, generally not considered a weapon. These heavy mauls had multiple uses but two primary uses were for breaking large limb bones such as those of bison to obtain the marrow and to pound wooden stakes into the ground to stretch hides on.Please feel free to educate me if you have additional information! Thank you!!!. I think it is a JAW dropper
