Wonderful Lot of 1970s Pin Back Buttons Rodeo Trail Rides - Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo - Cook Offs - Advertising 30 Pieces Any good Texan knows that the trail rides are a traditional part of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. The trail rides began in 1952 and continue today. Horseback riders, buckboards and covered wagons make their way from several cities and towns throughout the Texas Gulf Coast (even one from Louisiana) and arrive near downtown Houston in time to participate in the annual parade that kicks off the rodeo season. This is a nice collection of 30 pinbacks that are primarily from different trail rides although there are a few from area cook-offs and a local radio station. These buttons are almost all from the 1970s. They are in good used condition, showing various degrees of scuffing, scratching and soiling on the front and rear sides. (The El Campo button does have ink that appears to have run on the paper underneath the covering. The Montgomery County button is plastic. Trail ride pins include those from the Salt Grass Trail Ride, Old Spanish Trail Ride, Trinity Valley Trail Riders Association, Inc., Montgomery County Trail Riders, Texas Independence Trail Ride, Southern Trail Ride, Southern Trail Riders Association, El Campo Elks Trail Ride, Sam Houston Trail Riders, American Trail Riders and KIKK Super read more
