Big Old Antique Pecan Wood Burl Dough Bowl Ovoid
Primitive old antique hand made wooden pecan wood burl bowl. T is a burl at each end. It has an ovoid or oval shape for bread making or baking - not exactly round, but, not oblong. Very slight light irregular shape from hand carved workmanship. Has a slight hand carved edge all of the way around the outside rim. All original and no damages or repairs. Does appear to be used, but, no utensil marks. Excellent heirloom condition. Extremely rustic and decorative. Very old worn smooth patina with the original high glossy finish, no wax, no paint, and not lacquered. Completely sound and solid. It is very smooth and has a deep rich patina, but, is very clean - could still be used. May have only been used for serving rolls at the dinner table - extra clean. Measures 13 inches wide by 12 inches. Excellent nearly mint condition; Absolutely no chips or cracks in the wood, No scratches, No dry rot, and no soft wood. No gouges, No scrapes,. No holes, Not odd or out of round - sits absolutely level, No scrapes, No gouges, No damages whatsoever. Firm and strong. Purchased at an estate sale near the town of Windsor, Missouri; the town has a largely Amish ancestry and is surrounded by Amish farm homes and farms. You will really appreciate the unique craftsmanship of this beautiful one of a kind woodenware piece of American history - still very rich and well preserved. (see pictures; very nice!). You will be able to tell right away just how very unique this is. Just a lovely old piece! You can just imagine it setting on your Early American splay leg kitchen table with your cream can or maple sugar bucket collection. Would look great at the dinner table in your cabin or Colonial home or on the sideboard or setting on a step back cabinet or shelf! Would make a lovely addition to any primitive, Victorian, Mission, or William and Mary decor. I am located near the Ozarks.
