is an awesome old trencher (dough bowl) up for bids without reserve! This is a 19th Century relic that measures 43 1/2 inches long; it's width is 15 1/4 inches wide, its height is just over 6 inches, and the weight is around 13 pounds. We found this old dough bowl in very old barn w it had been forgotten about for much of the last century. It's still just like we found it: dusty & dirty! The patina is absolutely original; we haven't oiled, waxed, refinished or otherwise altered its appearance. We haven't even cleaned it. This bowl's natural color will be revealed with a good cleaning. Orange oil, or paste wax will bring out even more color as well as the grain of the wood, if desired. We always sell our country antiques in "as-found" condition in order to let the customer decide how the item should look and to share the fun of finding a long lost treasure! This hand-hewn dough bowl has folksy-looking, carved handles on each end which add lots of charm to this piece! It's a solid and tight trencher that's ready for display! Imagine just how nice this old bowl would look great on a large harvest table or fireplace hearth, filled with whatever your imagination can come up with! Some people use pine cones, nuts, fruit, wooden fruit, gourds, wooden smalls, magazines, etc. We don't find them this big very often! Don't miss it! (Photos read more
