EARLY OLD YELLOW WARE BOWL APPROX. MEAS. 5 1/4"H by 11 7/8"D just shy of 12" weight 4 lbs 11.6oz no marking on bottom This is a wonderful yellow ware bowl. Has a great presence and is commanding in size. Came from a charming local estate auction held in Ohio w they were literally bringing boxes and boxes out of the home and selling. This huge bowl was one of several items purchased. Condition is quite great. T are no cracks or chips or hairlines that I can detect. T is crazing and a few areas w t is some loss to the applied bands and some flecks to the interior and rim which I have photographed. T are some flecks to the underneath base, but it is free of cracks or chips. T are multiple applied white bands and one blue. Seven in total. Colour tone is exceptional. Deep, vivid, and buttery. I am not sure of the maker, but it is certainly well-form and has a wonderful feel. Reminds me of mocha ware decoration. Is hefty in weight. Love the form and the shape of the bowl with the rounded rim and base. Nicely sloped body. Just has a fantastic look. Certainly is in dire need of a soft cleaning which I have not done. If you are looking for a rich, earthy piece of yellow ware, this bowl would be exemplary. Just has soul. If you have any questions or wish additional pictures, I am happy to assist.
