This is a 9-Unit steam freight set featuring a smoking 666 die cast engine with white stripe. Very nice running set. I really like the 666 engines as they will pull more than any other Marx steam type engine especially with an added traction tire. This one is a very nice looking 666 with white stripe, operating light, factory traction tire and very nice smoker. This engine looks like those that collectors pay top dollar for. The original owner who sold it to me, said it had only been used a month and then stored. The cars look good too. I see no breaks, cracks or chips. Cars roll nicely and all wheels and couplers are present and in operating order. When testing, this engine pulled these cars up a steep 4% grade and it reversed nicely. The cars are a Allstate tall back tender, a small Erie flat car used for the crane to overhang, a blue green B&M (Boston & Maine) boxcar, a CB&Q long flat car, a blue triple dome Allstate tank car, a two deck Erie 51100 car carrier, an operating black NYC plastic and cast metal crane and a red Santa Fe work caboose. This set is an Allstate set (Sears) from 1960 or 61 with upgraded electric switches and some additional O-27 track and switches. The pictures include a catalog add for this set. The set also comes with a 100 watt transformer, wide radius (O-34) track (10 curved & 6 straight, a lock-on, read more
