A large partially hollow Unopened Keokuk Geode in this listing. The Opened Geodes are just samples of what came out of this area and not included in this listing. This one was self collected by us from a tributary of the Mississippi River in Clark County, Missouri. For these unopened geodes we travel a 15 mile length of the river by canoe and pick these geodes up off sandbars and in the water along the way. There are several underwater outcroppings that these come out of and wash out during the several flash floods throughout the year. Most of the geodes in this area display gemmy Clear, Citrine Orange, and/or Smoky Quartz Crystals with an occasional Calcite Crystal, Barite Crystal, Dolomite Crystals, and once in awhile a Sphalerite Crystal. There are also awesome Agate Geodes in this area. This one weighs 4 pounds 7 ounces and measures about 16 by 10 by 9 cm.. Imagine the excitement of being the first person to see the interior of these geodes once opened. Once opened, they can be worth many times what we sell them for depending on what is inside. Keokuk Geode is a termed used for geodes encompassing a radius of about 50 miles around the Keokuk, Iowa area
