Pictured below is a large vintage modernist ring in sterling silver designed by Franco Pianegonda for Pianegonda, Vicenza, Italy, circa ‘90s. The heavy, solid ring features a sculptural modern design with three thick, curved sheets of sterling silver rising to different heights above the integrated, circular band. This is a very substantial, heavy, striking ring – of excellent quality and craftsmanship – with clean, sculptural lines and big presence on the hand. Measurements: The top of the ring measures about 1 1/8” wide with nice rise off the band. The ring is about a US size 8 ¼. Condition: The ring is in very good used vintage condition, with light surface signs of age and wear, some darkened patina, but no detractors. Marks: It is signed on the back of one of the curved plaques with impressed marks, ‘PIANEGONDA,’ and on the interior of the band with, ‘925 [in an oval], star mark 2213 VI [in a box], ITALY.’ Please see my numerous other auctions for more mid-Century modern and art deco design vintage decorative pieces and jewelry.
