Up for auction is a wonderful piece of mahogany furniture by Biggs. It is a beautiful Highboy from the 1950's and is in the Chippendale design period. It is 7' 4" tall, 3' 2" wide and is 1' 8" deep. It comes in two pieces. The top has a broken arch pediment with three flame finials and two large rosettes that are the shape of a southern dogwood blossom. The top drawer is a craved shell, followed by two over five graduated drawers with cut out brass handles. The bottom half has craved shell knees and ball and claw feet. T are two over three drawers with the middle bottom having the same carved shell drawer as the top one and the same cut out brass handles. It has the Biggs logo in the top right drawer. In the pictures I tried to show any nicks and or scratches that are the worst part of this great piece. It would be a wonderful addition to you Colonial Williamsburg style living , dining, or master bedroom. It is heavy, sturdy and structurally sound. As most of us know Biggs and Kittinger were part of the same company in the late 60's and early 70's known as General Interiors and later was folded into just the Kittinger name known as the Old Dominion line. They are the same quality as Henkel Harris, Suters, or Baker. Shipping will be the responsiblity of the buyer. If you need some shippers information we can pass on a few names that we have used in the past. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have. Thanks for looking and hopefully bidding on this great Biggs Highboy.
