Handmade glass by Bill GroutBorosilicate Vortex Style Marble, Stargate 04.05.16.1DescriptionThe marble is 48 mm or 1.89" diameter.Made with Glass Alchemy, Northstar, and Simax borosilicate glass.All of my work is properly annealed using a digital ramping controller.This vortex style marble has mainly silver fumed web effects against the interior. Twisted cane panels line the black background showing a bit of salmon red. The back side is covered with my signature design formed with a continuous swirling rake pattern in a soft pastel blue, tan, and amber purple. It is signed on the edge "WCG 16".About the artistBill Grout is a self represented artist who has been making glass beads and other torch work full time since 1993. My home and glass working studio is located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana, where I work with my talented wife Rae, who also makes wonderful lampwork beads.
